What Are The Best Places For Late Deal Holidays?
Whilst our own beautiful country has a lot going for it, hot sunny weather isn’t one of our strong points, and many people find themselves looking for late deal holidays to get away from the British weather. One of the advantages of the current financial problems is that many travel companies are offering late deal holidays at even better rates than usual, so you are very likely to be able to afford that last minute holiday in the sun.
So, where are the best places for last minute holidays? In no particular order, here are some of the ones I’ve found to be good choices. Remember, I’ve been in the travel business for many years, so whilst I haven’t visited all of these places, I’ve sent enough people to them to know what’s good and what isn’t!
Please note that I have no idea what kind of late deal holiday you are looking for, so not everything on this list might be suitable for you. Feel free to pick and choose…
- Greece is always a popular destination for a late deal holiday, not least because it can rightly claim to cater to everyone from the beach-seeking sun worshipper to the historically inclined who want to search around the ancient ruins. Miles of beautiful beaches, large villas on hilltops with stunning views, Greece has a lot to offer for last minute holiday seekers.
- Morocco is not always thought of as a tourist destination, but is has sunshine for about ten months every year, and offers the visitor a wide variety of experiences. From the enchanting ancient markets of Marrakech, through the art and culture of Assilah and Essaouira, to the stunning beaches and inviting seas, Morocco is an ideal destination for your next late deal holiday.
- Egypt is the perfect destination for those looking for history and ancient culture, as well as the amazing architecture of Sharm El Sheikh. With the clear blue waters and clean beaches of the Red Sea, Egypt is also an ideal choice for a beach holiday with a difference.
- Majorca is well-known as a party-loving resort for the clubbing crowd, but there are plenty of destinations suitable for families as well. With warm sunny weather pretty much the whole year round, Majorca is an ideal place for those who want to feel the sun on their face.

- Jamaica has always been one of the chosen destinations of the rich late deal holiday makers, but in recent years, it has been opened up to those on a more modest budget as well. Situated in the Caribbean islands, it offers beautiful white sandy beaches, stunning mountains and a fascinating culture. Don’t forget to check out the Bob Marley museum and see Jamaica’s most famous son, still alive in spirit in this lively island.
- Sri Lanka is another island that many people think is only for the rich, but it is well within the reach of most people, and is a superb place for late deal holidays. Luscious beaches, palms trees everywhere and tall imposing mountains covered in green trees, Sri Lanka is an island paradise. There are bird sanctuaries and nation parks, so if you would like to see elephants, big cats and wild boar in their natural surroundings, this is a great place to visit.
